Creating a Custom Tile for a Non-Steam Game in Pin Steam
Step 1: Add your game to Steam

Step 2: Create a link to your added game on your desktop

Step 3: Go to properties of the link

Step 4: Copy the URL

Step 5: Start up Pin Steam and open the app bar (right click anywhere) and press Create Custom Tile

Step 6: Write a title and paste in the URL, then click pick on the wide logo

Step 7: Find your picture or use Bing to search for one

Step 8: Pick your image

Step 9: Crop the image

Step 10: Put the finishing touches and press pin!

Finally enjoy:

The function is not functioning. When I right click, the option “Create Custom Tile” is not showing.
Hey Robson. I’m sorry but this is a preview of the next version of the app. The function will be available as soon as it clears Microsoft certification.
Hopefully before the end of the week.
This new function will be a update of the current version?
Yes, keep an eye out for the update 😀
Ok!! And congratulations for the App!!
Thank you so much. I’m glad you like it!
Hey this is apps is great, but i have a question, how resolutions of large icons? i dont look one image with size correct in bing
The resolution of wide icons is 310×150, but the resolution on the Start Menu seems to vary.
Hey felizk! I noticed that some shortcuts aren’t working. I strictly followed your instructions for adding games to steam+making shortcuts. So for now linking to the Diablo 3 and TERA launcher is working. Guild Wars 2, Star Wars The Old Republic, World of Warcraft and Halo doesn’t work. Every of them are working fine starting them directly from Steam.
I have the latest version of Pin Steam and it is great. I have been playing with the “Create Custom Tile” option. Does the program have to be in the steam inventory first? I was able to get it to pin with a non-steam game that is in my steam inventory, but not with a non-steam game that is not in my steam inventory. Is that right or am I probably doing something wrong?
Never mind my previous question. I missed the first step of your tutorial above that says to add the non-steam game to your steam inventory. Thx
Hey, this is awesome. You should add some scaling options to the img editor and this would be perfect. Seriously.
Thanks Rick!
You can use right mouse button to scale in the editor. 😀
@felizk
Then perfect it is! Thanks.
Hi. I’ve followed the above and the shortcut for Far Cry 3 works when I click it on the traditional desktop, but pasting the steam:// link into a custom tile and pinning doesn’t launch the game. It just goes to the traditional desktop and stops. Any ideas?
If it made it to the desktop it should be starting the URL. I had a problem at some point where the URL no longer worked after deleting the desktop shortcut to it, but that would be really strange. I hope you figure it out.
OK, well I remade a desktop link and then a new Tile and it’s working fine now. Weird! Thanks anyway
How do you pin a website?
Hey @Andy , you just put the URL of the website in the Valid URL part. For example: http://jacobkorsgaard.com
